Female Success Stories – Linda Bradford Raschke

Born – 1959 in Pasadena, California, United States

Unlike other women traders, Linda Bradford Raschke’s story is not a rags to riches tale. Yet, it inspires many. Linda is famous for her consistent success, and excellent performance. She began her trading career in 1981 as a member of two exchanges.

In 1992, she became a registered Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA). This proved to be the point from where she took a big leap in her professional trading life. She began trading for several funds and also started her own hedge fund in 2002. She was the Commodity Pool Operator (CPO) of the same.

On seeing the returns on investment, Linda’s hedge fund was ranked 17th out of the 4500 other hedge funds by Barclays Hedge for its high performance for 5 years. Though Linda retired from her positions as both CTA and CPO in 2015, she still continues trading for her own account; the one which she started way back in 1992.

Her written works include “Street Smarts: High Probability Trading Strategies for the Futures and Equities Markets”, which she co-authored with Laurence A. Connors. Linda’s success in the financial sector has been featured in many publications. A few of them include The New Market Wizards by Jack Schwager and Women of the Street: Making It On Wall Street – The World’s Toughest Business by Sue Herera.
